I’m Ian, a.k.a the paper sparrow, an avid journal keeper and analogue enthusiast. Having fallen into the journaling habit during lockdown, I discovered the practice of journaling was a great creative outlet for recording ideas, emotions and the simple joys of everyday life. Knowing the beneficial impact journal keeping can have on mental health from personal experience, I hope to encourage others into exploring this useful tool to express and reflect.

I host a monthly Journal Club at Hunter Paper Co, a collective of new and seasoned journals who get together to share a few creative and fun hours.
I work with the Crescent Arts Centre, delivering workshops on creative mindful journaling and junk journaling, a day of crafty and considered activities. We build and decorate our own journals from discarded or hoarded scraps, ephemera and paper paraphernalia.
A stationery obsessive, I will be reviewing and featuring new and exciting products and events happening in the stationery, journaling and planning community.
